Dr. Forde received his bachelors from Oakwood University, his Masters of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his PhD from Vanderbilt University.  He spent several years working as a researcher at a high school dropout/drug prevention program at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN called “I Have A Future.”  This program was successful in reducing both high school dropouts and drug prevention for inner city youth and received national acclaim.  Dr. Forde also served as the director of an alternative school for minority K-12 males funded by a demonstration grant from National Science Foundation (NSF).  This program was successful in supporting several students’ efforts to graduate from high school and attend college with scholarships.  Dr. Forde has several years of administrative experience as Associate Director of Science Education Programs at Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), a consortium of major Ph.D. – granting academic institutions that cultivate collaborative partnerships to enhance the scientific research and educational enterprise of science and technology through research and fellowship opportunities for undergrad, grad and postdoc students.  His research interests include cultural competency and Emerging Instructional Technologies.  His hobbies include playing the piano, racquetball and cycling.
