TLI: Culturally Competent Instructional Strategies that Support the Achievement of All Students
This workshop, part of the Teaching and Learning Innovations Series, will discuss three dimensions of cultural competency that might enhance the achievement of students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

The dimensions, which include knowledge, understanding and action, will be defined and discussed by participants. Additionally, case studies and discussions will allow participants to think about how these dimensions can be added to their pedagogical approaches and integrated into classroom instruction.

After participating in this workshop participants will be able to:
*Identify effective instructional strategies for working with students of color
*Uncover their personal knowledge and implicit meanings that carry strong value claims and assumptions

Facilitated by Dr. Tim Forde.
