Deaf Senior Finds New Path, Fresh Hope

After working with IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York, Timothy Mackey's began his new career path at EKU.  In the fall of 2015 Timothy began his path to become an ASL teacher.

2nd Annual EKU Food Drive

Annual Food Drive

EKU's Colonel's Cupboard and the University Diversity Office has kicked-off their 2nd Annual Food Drive during November Hunger Awareness Month.  Offices and departments across campus are partnering to beat last year's record of collecting over one ton (over 2000 lbs.) of food for EKU students. Donations will be excepted through November 30th.

11 college student were brought together to discuss what it is like on campuses across the country today. The students share the frustration and anguish of trying to be understood and acknowledged on campuses where the faculty and students were predominantly white.

2018-19 Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted

Are you a student who would benefit from a structured program dedicated to helping you achieve your academic and professional goals?

Are you a first-generation, low-income students with various cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic background with diverse interests?

Would you benefit from a mentor, monthly workshops, and study hours?

EKU Diversity Office

EKU will be closed from Monday, December 18, 2017 to Monday, January 1, 2018.  The Diversity Office will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

November is Hunger Awareness Month

EKU Diversity Office
  • 1 in 6 EKU students experience food insecurity during the first semester on campus;
  • 21% of EKU students might need food assistance at some point during their college experience;
  • 10% of EKU students could benefit from regular food pantry assistance.

How can you help ?

  • Place a donation box at your office - volunteers will pick it up for you!
  • Donate canned & dry foods, toiletry items, paper plates/bowls, and utensils.
  • Create a challenge within your group/department.
