EKU Diversity Mini-Grant 2017-18

Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) is committed to creating and improving efforts to make our campus a more diverse and inclusive community. To support these efforts, the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Chief Diversity Officer, is soliciting proposals for the implementation of research and scholarly initiatives that address diversity and inclusive excellence on our campus.

The purpose of the EKU Diversity Mini-Grant Program is to:

1.    Encourage faculty, staff, and collaborative faculty/student research teams to address the campus goals for building a more diverse and inclusive campus community;

2.    Support research and/or scholarly initiatives that seek innovative approaches to diversity and inclusion or seek to provide new data to support the importance of institutional diversity; and

3.    Promote the development of initiatives that foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who work and study at EKU.

Diversity Mini-Grant Amounts

Proposals may request a maximum of $1500

Two awards will be funded.  More proposals may be funded if funding requests are less than the maximum allowed.

Proposals for projects or research in one or more of the following five target areas are encouraged:

  1. Enhance the quality of teaching and learning about diversity;
  2. Enrich the diversity experiences of all students;
  3. Create a welcoming and inclusive work and learning environment where differences are respected and valued, that offers opportunity for and supports the success of all students, staff and faculty;
  4. Improve recruitment, retention and graduation of students from historically underrepresented groups; and
  5. Increase recruitment, retention and success of faculty from historically underrepresented groups.
